Sleeve Drama

· A Shona Joy dress and Bared Footwear ·

Bridie Leah Shona Joy Dress, Style, Lifestyle and Fashion Blogger,

I'm a romantic at heart, which is probably why I've fallen so hard for the balloon sleeve.

There’s just something about it which makes me feel like I’m straight out of or a renaissance painting or my favourite childhood movie, The Swan Princess (bring back memories anyone?)

Shona Joy would have to be one of my favourite Australian brands and I love the classic cut, fabric and print of this dress. Who knew that a balloon sleeve reminiscent of the eighties could be done so well?

I was going to pack this dress on the trip that we had planned for Europe this year. Because I could dress it up or down with heels, sandals or some white runners, it would be versatile for travel.

However, since the world has turned upside down, I’m making the most of wearing it before winter sets in. I particularly love wearing it with these Bared Footwear sandals. I recently discovered their brand through a friend and I fell in love with them. Made by a podiatrist who saw a much needed gap in the market they are some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve worn that don’t skimp on style. I’m definitely eyeing off a few more of the flats and heels in their collection. I also love how they are a small Australian brand and who are taking steps on the social and environmental front as well which you can read about here. They are definitely a brand I can get behind.

I would love to know, how do you like this recent trend?

What’s your style?

This style looks great on you, Bridie! It’s such a timeless design and I love that it has such a classic print. I feel that clothing pieces that you can wear for different occasions always get more use out of them – versatility for the win!
