You may recall this jumpsuit – one of the earlier outfits I featured on this blog. Funny enough I’d admired it in one of my favourite stores about a season before seeing it hanging outside a rack of my local Red Cross store in Sydney – where it promptly came home with me. I guess it’s an apt representation of the pace at which fashion moves. In the spotlight one moment, irrelevant the next. Let’s see if we can’t change that story with some outfit repeating, no?
It’s been a perfect piece for the heatwave London has experienced these last few months and for which I, an Aussie, was not prepared. I had neglected my summer wardrobe thinking I wouldn’t be using it much. Oh how wrong I was. It turns out the apartment we’re in is much more suited to keeping heat in, than out.
This is a relaxed, laid back look featuring these lovely slides by Nisolo (a conscious shoe brand sprinkling in vibes of the coveted Hermes Oran Slides minus the price tag – although I’m not saying I wouldn’t splurge if my budget allowed me to) and this beautiful straw bag from Not On The High Street (an online store which stocks a lot of small businesses). The straw bag itself is from a Potuguese brand, Lusophile, sourcing lifestyle product from “small, independent labels of family run businesses”. The finishing touch to this outfit, I think, are these stunning pearl and topaz climber earrings from Mejuri – I love that they are a statement piece but quite small and subtle at the same time. They were a kindly gifted piece but I’ve collaborated with Mejuri quite a few times and love their delicate, timeless jewellery and their emphasis on transparency and using recycled metals. You can read more about their sustainability ethos here.
Life’s been very full of late – showering me with challenges to help me grow, intermingled with joy to remind me of how beautiful but transitory this wild ride is. I’m hoping to get into the rhythm of more regular, longer form blog posts again soon but have been trying to stay more present so I can soak up this wonderful opportunity we’ve been given to see, and live in a different part of the world. I hope you’ll forgive the short interlude and more editorial style posts in the mean-time. I’m so very grateful for this platform and community, so thank you for being here.
What’s a piece you’ve been wearing on repeat this summer?
